The symbol of the city was built in the 15th century – no one knows by whom – and today functions as a museum of the history of the city. The interesting buildings around the Tower house the most important theaters of Northern Greece, namely the KTHBE at the Society for Macedonian Studies and the Royal Theater just opposite.
